Looking for Beta testers of a combination theme

Hello,

I have created a theme from various aspects of the italian firmware/prada/original cookie and my own browser design. I have Alpha tested this and it has had no problems as of yet but I am now looking for Beta testers before giving a tutorial on how to install the Prada/My own combo theme in more depth, as I do not want to provide any untested mods.

It contains:

Custom design browser: Has different coloured tabs and uses a darker colour scheme

Italian firmware Icons

Prada functionality such as ability to change font on the phone under 'screen settings' and the prada volume control which includes a mute button.

Prada music player/video player and notification screens - also prada loading .gifs

Now I am not saying that this is perfect as there are some crossovers which just cannot be combined (these are however small) When selecting the top menu (both the classic and scrolling will work) the images displayed are of the prada main menu even though the main menu is actually the italian one. This seems to me worth it though for the ability of a mute button on the volume settings and the ability to change font.

Now before you try this new CUST it is for software version V10D(_08) and if you try it with another firmware it may well brick your phone. Also make sure you dont leave your battery in when sending the CUST (i did that last night and it bricks the phone) DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. (also make a copy of your original cookie CUST just in case you do not like the new one)

Otherwise any experienced users, i look forwards to hearing your comments 

Now I know that people are very skeptical as we have been messed around regarding themes many times now. Unfortunately I have tried taking pics with my webcam but its too blurry to really see what is going on. However please trust me on this one as this does work.

Further Note: This is a work in progress and the file provided will not be the final creation. This is after 1 days work and I am looking to add more to the Cookie (as LG are a company that has bad ethics and seems not to care for aftersales service for customers)

Possible (will be attempted) future additions:

Highlight of wallpapers included into the default images
Addition of text's to use on the phone
New Startup/Shutdown shutdown sound/moving image
New standard ringtones
Inclusion of touch screen games/apps (not 100% but will give it a go)


Once this is completed I will attempt a crossover based on the Prada White giving the cookie a lighter look.

Are all the changed files in the dmf-folder?

Mostly yes. Finding the right combination of .dmf folders was not easy though and it took alot of trial and error. I have uploaded the CUST as it will save time having to inject them all from the themes (i believe most people are using V10D so this seemed an easier option).

If you want to inject them into your own CUST manually however, just copy over all of the .DMF folder.

Also my own web browser design can be found under LGAPP>Obigo>Ref

Remove the one currently in your CUST and then copy that whole folder over to get the new browser.

Let me know your results.

One small other issue I have just found is that when the font is changed to 'fun style', when texting the letters are a little cramped in the box, but if this is a big issue you can easily change back to the default font

Haven't tested yet, wasn't home this afternoon. I'm downloading now and will test tomorrow. And I'll also take some pictures to show what it's like.

Btw, have you got the whole LG Prada II lgapp folder?

Thankyou, are you using V10D?

Just so that fewer problems can occur during the sending of the CUST:

1) Make sure you are using firmware V10D if you are uploading the CUST straight to the phone (other firmware version will have to manually inject the .dmf and browser)

2) MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE BATTERY WHEN SENDING THE CUST

3) The problem with NAND and EBL occurs if you dont connect your phone to your computer in time. (when selecting the file to send write 'CUST', then plug your phone in and quite quickly hit return on your keyboard to send the CUST)



If all of these are ensured then things should go fine. Enjoy

If you do try it tonight, it's worth it    (so long as it doesnt brick lol, but if it does I will guide you through reflashing the phone if you do not already know how to)

Other parts of the black prada theme that you feel should be included? (bearing in mind that colour scheme suits)

It's in progress now. But while it is sending I suddenly had the feeling I did something wrong. And I know what it is, I'm not running V10D_08 but V10V I guess.

So it will probably brick

But if you've got the .dmf's of the prada file, could you upload them?

Wtf?   Might be a compatibility problem between the firmware versions. Did the CUST come to about 120mb?

The flash worked for me, but nothing changed... no different icons or something
I extract the dmf-folder of this cust and copyed to my originalcust with WinImage and send it.

I was tested this CUST...but nothing... evrything is simple.

How do you mean simple? What colour is your browser?/loading screens?
